Insurance is arranged for each hire, subject to every driver meeting our insurer's requirements. Eligibility is never automatic.
Driver requirements
- A full, valid UK driving licence is required.
- Driving licence and DVLA conviction checks may apply.
- Drivers must meet the insurer's requirements for penalty points and driving convictions.
- Minimum age, driving experience and licence-held periods are set by the insurer.
- A security deposit and insurance excess may apply.
- All drivers must be declared and approved before the hire begins.
- Bookings may be subject to insurer approval.

How approval works
When you request a booking, we ask a few questions about each driver. We use these only to assess eligibility. We may then ask for a DVLA check code or other information. Final decisions follow our insurer's rules and our own approval process — we'll always tell you clearly whether your booking is approved before you pay.
